Angie's Blueberry Lemon Muffins

In a saucepan mix:
   1 Cup frozen Bluberries
   1/4 Cup Water
   1 Tbsp Honey

Stir until thick, then let cool.

Combine dough ingredients
1 1/2 Cup Almond Flour
   1/8 Cup Melted Butter
   1/4 tsp Baking Soda
   1/8 tsp Salt
   2 tsp lemon juice (not from concentrate)
   1 tsp grated lemon rind
   2 Eggs
   1/4 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
   1/4 Cup Honey

Combine the almond flour baking soda, salt,
Combine the cooled berries, vanilla, honey, lemon juice, lemon rind and eggs in another bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the wt ingredients and mix well.
Bake for 25 min at 325°.

What kind of joke is Google playing on everybody? They release some kind of new Google search environment and somehow it shows up only in incognito mode when using chrome. Freshened up Google graphic, larger search text and new category icons on the left instead of search mode text on the top

Laptop mount for Camera Tripod

Attaching something like a laptop to a sturdy camera tripod should be something I would hope can be done by all computers in the future but right now I supposed the demand just isn't there. Pat. Pend.

This could have expendable arms that could grab the corners of a device and be tightened into place. This could be accomplished as simply as a wingnut. But in order for the laptop to be removed and placed easily and evenly on a seperate surface, feet may have to be placed near the corners or somewhere in between the center mounting

Fig 2 &3 Show a rectangular plate with ledges that will act like a table top for the laptop. I want this to work.
If there was a plate that held the laptop or laptop shapped device, it has to have ventalation and a sturdy grip that I suppose would be adjustable. Foam or cusions would have to keep away from disk drives or fan vents.

iPad not Fooling Anybody. Courior still looks Cooler

Apple's new device needs a few additions before it makes the grade. An impresive iPad would have to have a full browser with add-ons and plugins and the approrpiate components of a modern browser. It would have some way to voip, which is now working on the iPhone, and should have a camera of some kind (especially a webcam). I would love to see an ATSC/M tuner and if it could support Google Docs and Google Gears, than this would be big. It almosts seems like this could be Apple throwing their hat into the netbook ring in an unconvetional, albeit insufficient way. Software is what will make the iPad succeed.

Apple's anticipated tablet has revealed itself as far cry from a full featured tablet computer. The unveiled device is essentially a larger screen iPod Touch with a great display screen, multi-touch and loads of possibilities. It is Apples use of the iPhone OS v3.2 on the iPad that allows it to support iPhone and iPod Touch apps. This is a smart, safe environment to release a new device like the iPad. Developers will be able to go nuts with this sort of interface. The possibilities seem quite endless at this point and it won't be long until we see loads other pad-apps.

Unfortunately, video seems limited to what is on iTunes and YouTube. This device would be the perfect way to enjoy broadcast television. If Apple included ATSC/M, the mobile broadcast digital television standard, the iPad would really make me interested. Having developers make software to enhance an advertising experience would be interesting to see. The Dell Mini features a model that supports digital television. The biggest drawback for television is that Hulu users will be out of luck, flash does not come to this apparently lackluster browser.

This device itself is hard to catigorize.The platform will be defined by it's large sensitive, accurate touch screen. Once the software is there for artists and musicians this thing could be a very powerful creative tool. Having such a large, responsive display could replace drawing tablets, especially since the device is marketed as sizesome pseudo-mobile peripheral.

The lack of multi-tasking and the lack of camera is a big disappointment for sure. Without multi-tasking this will remain the a sub rate netbook tablet or glorified portable media player. Processing one task at a time does give it full-throttle use of its 1GHz processor for an individual app.

Windows 7 doesn't sound like it will be possible since the processor is not an Intel. Apple's A4 seems like a chip intended for something less than a netbook since it appears to be a custom ARM A9 similar to the Nexus One or Zune HD. This processor is fine since there isn't any usb ports or card reader or any useful connection that would have this contend with a full featured computer. From looking at what the iPad offers it doesn't impress me like Micorosoft's rumored twin screen tablet notebook, "Courier", which reminds me of Inspector Gadget's niece, Penny's computer book.

One final note is the names of iPad and iBook app. "Pad" was better than iTablet or iSlate, but I'm not thrilled. The jokes are getting old already. The app titled "iBook" is a little stale and I would have thought Apple would have an edgier way to refer to an ebook reader app. Like the way "pod" was used to describe an MP3 player.

Macbook lacks DV capture through firewire.

The 2009 Macbook is ready to come preinstalled with Final Cut Express, but you'll never be able to edit your home movies if you have a DV camcorder that uses firewire (or i.LINK) to get the video off. You have to buy a camcorder that transfers video through USB. Apple invented firewire and now they're giving up on it with their simplest notebook. The Macbook simply does not offer an option for capturing video through IEEE 1394. So if you want to have any hope of turing little Billy's birthday party into a pretty iMovie project, too bad.

I just got off the phone with Steve Job's grandma or something because thats who it sounded like I was talking to with their technical support. She tried to tell me I could connect the camcorder through the ethernet port. Unbelieveable!! So much for Genius Bar.

Maybe its my fault for not buying new devices every year, but I'm not going to scrap my old, completely working, camcorder just to meet Apple's peripheral preferences. I really wish that they kept the PC card or a Express Card/54. And I'm certainly not going to fork over the extra $371 to be able to do something that my 7 year old T23 Thinkpad can do with a PC card.

It is Apple's expectation to conform to their set standards that has always prevented me from embracing them for their ingenuity. Their innovation and forward thinking is something to be admired but also, frustratingly, to be admonished. This is because they will always leave their old, even the most loyal, costumers in the dust. This is about as bad as them going glossy with their screens.

Creating new Tab-to-search items for Chrome

The websites you can search using keywords and the tab key within Google Chromes address bar, the "omnibox", are found in Chrome's options window under the basic tab's search engine heading.

If you come accross a website you want to be able to search from Chrome's omnibox you must first add the websites search url string to the 'Search Engines' dialog box. This dialog screen has a long list that begins with "Default Searches" followed by lists of more websites chrome can tab to search. Open the dialox by clicking on the wrench, clicking Options and pressing the 'Manage' button.

Once you see the list, press the 'add' button to enter in an entry name, what you want to type in the omnibox before pressing tab, e.g. surfthechannel.com, and the search url which would be http://www.surfthechannel.com/search/all/1/1/%s.html. The %s must be placed wherever the search term goes. another example is http://roboputer.com/?s=%s.

Click some 'OKs' to close out the dialog windows and save your work and try tab searching your new website. When you type what was written in the keyword field while adding the site, and follow that with a tab, Google Chrome should now say "Search" before the keyword. The website should now be searchable by Google Chrome.

Angie's Specific Carbohydrate Diet Pizza

Sauce

3 cups SCD-Safe tomato juice (Canned Dole Brand)

¾ cup chopped onions

½ Tbsp SCD-Safe red wine vinagar (Pompeian Brand)

1 Tbsp Honey

½ Tbsp Olive Oil

Put all ingredients in a sauce pan and partially cover with lid. Simmer until it becomes more like sauce. Make the crust while the juice boils down.

Crust

1 cup almond flour

2 large eggs

2 crushed cloves garlic

½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (no pre-shredded)

1 Tbsp olive oil

½ tsp salt

Mix all ingredients and slowly add additional almond flour and olive oil until dough can be rolled into a ball. Set the oven for 375 degrees. Spread the dough in a greased, eight inch pie pan and place in the oven for 5-7 minutes while the oven preheats. Remove when dough is firm to touch.

When sauce reaches desired consistancy, spread it the crust and top.

Toppings

2 cups Brick cheese

4 mushrooms sliced

½ green pepper diced

Top it any way you want. Brick cheese is strongly recommended.

Palm Desktop Backup for Lost Datebook (Calander)

Losing my calander entries is my biggest concern with mobile devices. With Palm Desktop and HotSync its a possibility and fixing it can be painless.

These tips are based on my experiences and not official documentation.

C:\Documents and Settings\*Windows User Name*\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\*5 char of your Palm User Name*\datebook

for me it was: C:\Documents and Settings\Nate\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\GoodMa\datebook

Close Palm Desktop if it's not already closed.

Find datebook.mdb and Rename it to datebook.mdb.lost

Now find the most recent backup file (.bak). This BAK is the MBD file from a previous session of Palm Desktop. Probably "DateBook.bak" Rename it to Datebook.mdb

Palm Desktop should make a new DateBook.bak file at some point after starting the application.

Hulu Site Updates Shows Promise

Hulu has made some adjustments to the website. A buffer meter was added so people stop wasting their time trying to load an entire episode. And a fullscreen button for the pop out window.

Frankly the pop out window can be used to navigate through everything as long as you have a search term to find it. The real benefits of switching to full screen, even when you can maximize a window is that often times fullscreen means full attention by the processor. That means a clearer picture and proper frame rate.

Internet Radio Search Engine

When will Google grab this plum. The media on the internet is far to scattered. We need to make a website that runs like surfthechannel but for internet radio. A database containing user entered data that logs the title, the most direct link to the station, the format of the streaming file and what player is required. Plus, a whole bunch of other things like ratings and comments and many other extras could be slapped on.

Dealing with adult content I think should be avoided for this site, maybe a seperate site for the dirty stuff if at all. Personal radio stations and things like pandora or last.fm should definately be allowed. The same principal of linking directly to the content provider should be maintained just like surfthechannel.

Personalization of the site should also be avoided as that is to provide a service to the user which is best left to big companies that can afford to blow money on managing the user data. The only data I want to see is the data of the radio stations. Tags might be useful but I dislike the unorganized scatter brain stuff. A better tag needs to be created only for radio.

Maybe we should encourage users to to include rss feeds too to help keep the search engine more up to date. Searching through rss feeds might mean buffering the rss feeds data into a quickly retrievable database. Probably best to leave that till a later version of the site. It's not of primary concern.

Podcasts could go either way. I don't think there are any legal issues with podcasts. I mean podcasts are just mp3s, right? I mean there's like an .xml file involved or something. I think. I dunno about these podcasts yet. I think it'll be fine to include them somehow.

I gotta think about this some more.

Adobe Flash Media for My Phone

The .flv extention is not very hip with the Palm OS. Kinoma is the only guy out there that is doing anything to make a dent. Kinoma Player 4 EX is the one option I've seen that will actually let me play flash video files. It really means little when you're surfing the mobile web. The video format used by YouTube's mobile database is a slimmed up version of a Quicktime default format. The impact of the iPhone no doubt.

Kinoma's software for PalmOS costs $24.99.
It will let you play the .flv files on a memory card.

The software's guide to online media is fine but it doesn't offer any support to Pandora of Last.FM which makes it pretty useless to me. Those are the only two ways to listen to discover new music. If I want other music the phone is already an mp3 player.

What I need is to find a way to make the flash media plug-in.
I have never programed for PalmOS before.

A few days ago I found out about a new version of Windows that Microsoft has been working on. Right now it is called Windows 7, codenamed Vienna, but neither will be it's final name. I am not sure what the advantages will be. I'm wondering if Windows Vista is just going to be another Windows ME disaster.

So I was trying to write an annotated bibliography for my Com Theory class and I got distracted. I started looking up old computers and found a website called "The History of Computing Project" and was looking through their video game timeline. I got down to 1984 and saw that the first game with 3D vector graphics came out for Atari.
Fortunately the game has a small following and I got to play the game after downloading a game emulator from here and then scouring for the ROM. I had to download the 0.89 version of the emulator because the 2.0 didn't work.
Great game. I wanna get it working on a machine to be arcade style or something. Great old video games are gonna be lost unless people are able to transfer them onto the Internet for people to enjoy. Video Games and other software should become public domain after 10 years or something.
I've been trying to get a copy of an old PlayStation game called Einhander. I had a demo disc and I really want to find it. That game is sweet too.

Microsoft Virtual PC

So this is blogging?

My roommate, Bill, showed me Microsoft Virtual PC today. I haven't tried it yet but I plan on it. I bet that will be a very cool piece of technology. Being able to run multiple operating systems at once on one machine is something that I've thought about for a long time. The first thing I want to do is install it on Angie's computer. I want to see if running Virtual PC on her laptop will help it run faster. Her laptop has a Sempron processor and I don't like it. That processor and the Celleron were designed to power super typewriters.

When I want to run multiple operating systems at once I've been using Remote Desktop Connection or forms of VNC. So I'm really running 2 or more separate computers at once. But Virtual PC adds a new spin on it.

This software, Microsoft Math, and this new laser mouse remote are all kick-ass. Then there's Surface and Photosynth which offers so much potential.

In this blog I plan to compare Windows and Mac OS. I like to argue between the two and with the new release of Mac OS 10.5 I am excited to see it up against Vista.
